A Picture is Worth..??

The old saying “A picture is worth a thousand words” is an interesting quote. What has that got to do with the Mind and Self-Hypnosis though?

Quote a lot really! You see, we mostly think in pictures.

Not only that, we get lost in pictures as well. We can look at a picture and then our imagination takes flight. We can place ourselves in the picture if it evokes something within us.

One of the most powerful tools in self transformation and goal achievement is the power of mental images. Images so strong that we see ourselves in them, part of them.

This immersion fires the Brain and makes connections tt move us towards our goals. Dream boards are a good example.

But what is that picture (or pictures) worth to you? Where can it take you? Do you dare to dream, to hold the dream in your mind – not once, but many times?

Kerry Spackman in his book “The Winners Bible” describes the technique of immersing yourself in your picture as “fixated visualisation”.  Where you are totally in the picture. You are there – on the beach, in the house. Whatever the picture is you are using.

Many people have described using images to pull themselves out of their past realities and into the life of their dreams.

Remember – “Energy Flows where attention goes…”

About selfhypnosisresource

Hi there. I have an interest in personal change - for the better and have done so for many years. I am working on meditation - that's a work in progress. I have been on a number of Vipassana retreats. I found these of great value. I also have an interest in self-hypnosis and how it can help with self improvement. My blog is on topics associated with personal change, hypnosis, Vipassana and Huna
