Affirmations and Self Hypnosis

Affirmations and Self Hypnosis?   Do they have anything in common?  I would say yes.  The definition of an affirmation is: ” the action or process of affirming something.”  Normally affirmations are used to affirm a new behaviour or desire.

Hypnosis or self-hypnosis use scripts to achieve a similar result / outcome.  The hypnosis script is the movie that you develop and program your mind with.

You could start with an affirmation, and develop a hypnosis script from it. Equally you could use the affirmation as the script and repeat it while you are in hypnosis.

Remember that I mentioned in a previous post, the Energy Flows Where Attention Goes.  As you focus on and give energy to your affirmation it will be recorded on the sub-conscious mind.

Affirmations without energy or emotion is like speaking words into the wind….. They won’t settle in the subconscious.  Without the focused attention and energy, the new images won’t stick.

Remember to use focused attention – hypnotic trance, and energy and emotion when you are working with either hypnosis scripts or affirmations.

About selfhypnosisresource

Hi there. I have an interest in personal change - for the better and have done so for many years. I am working on meditation - that's a work in progress. I have been on a number of Vipassana retreats. I found these of great value. I also have an interest in self-hypnosis and how it can help with self improvement. My blog is on topics associated with personal change, hypnosis, Vipassana and Huna
