How Positive Do You Start Your Day?

A question for you – ‘How positive do you start your day?”  With thoughts and images of positivity or negativity? Hope or dread? Positive or negative expectation?

Hmm – an interesting question.  One that I asked myself recently. Last year I would have said not very positive.  Now I would say VERY positive!

Why the difference?  Well, building on the scripts I created for myself and using self-hypnosis, I can say that my general thoughts have changed for the better!  I now bounce out of bed in the morning, rather than crawling out with bleary eyes and dreading facing the day.  Remember – We get more of what we focus on.

So – how positive do you start your day?  What’s the first few things that you think about just before you hop out of bed?  Do you have a dread script running head? – “Oh no, it’s Monday again!” “Back to the office again – that job!” etc…  Then what are the things going through your mind as you start your morning routine?  More of the same?

Our thoughts follow the same tracks in the brain that we created years ago.  Every time we focus on these thoughts, we reinforce the neural connections in the brain.

Stepping out from behind these thoughts is the challenge!  But remember that “The World is What you think it is!”  If you expect your day to be negative – hey guess what – it will be.

This is not about being a Polly-Anna.  This is about developing a an expectation of how your day will be and how you will react.

In his book, “The Luck Factor” Richard Wiseman points out that lucky people have an expectation that things will work out for them and unlucky people – you guessed it – have an expectation that things won’t work out for them.

So how about beginning to start programming yourself to expect a positive day?

Until next time.
