Where are my thoughts going?

In a previous post I talked about: energy flows where attention goes, now is the moment of power and mindfulness. I also remembered that it was important to focus on what I wanted, not what I didn’t want. You see, focusing on the don’t want you will only get more of the same.

So, remembering these concepts again the question is: where do I want to focus my attention? Dan Millman put it pretty well – “where am I and what is the time?” Well the answers to those questions are: Here & Now! So the starting point is for focusing my attention is in the here & now.

Without a clear direction or purpose, our thoughts will wander to where they have always wandered. Here’s a question for you – When you wake up in the morning and lying there just before you get up, what are your thoughts? What do you think about? It was interesting noticing my thoughts this morning! Wandering all over the place – movies playing in the mind. No direction, dwelling in the past and the future. They settle where they have always settled, like late night replays of old movies.

So, if what I am thinking about every morning is undirected, how do I direct them to a better place? The only way to do that is to have a destination, a vision of tomorrow.

Do each of know what we really want? Not from the head, but from the heart? And if we do, do we focus on it? Morning noon and night?

Something that I have found to help me to work out what I want is using hypnosis.  I found that I have a the resources within me – they just need nurturing with the right tools and techniques.

Until next time.
