Say what….?

It was interesting sitting and talking with the guys after the 3 day Vipassana retreat. That is after the noble silence finished and we all finally started talking . :-)Talk turned to maintaining our practice back in the “real world”. The point of interest was the language or words that used by the various people to describe the challenges that each of us would face once we got home. The common theme that came across was difficult and hard.

Words / phrases like – it’s too hard, it’s going to be hard, I don’t think I can do that etc are a good indicator of our hidden belief system. What is important to note is that the language we use reflects our thinking and beliefs. It is also a window into how we perceive our world subconsciously.

Becoming aware of the words that we use to describe even simple, mundane tasks as well as more difficult tasks will start to expose our inner hidden world of beliefs.

About selfhypnosisresource

Hi there. I have an interest in personal change - for the better and have done so for many years. I am working on meditation - that's a work in progress. I have been on a number of Vipassana retreats. I found these of great value. I also have an interest in self-hypnosis and how it can help with self improvement. My blog is on topics associated with personal change, hypnosis, Vipassana and Huna
